How MRCOOL Multi-Zone Systems Work
MRCOOL Olympus multi-zone systems allow multiple indoor air handlers to connect to a single outdoor condenser for customized comfort throughout the home. Each indoor unit should be properly sized for the specific room or area it serves, while the outdoor condenser should be sized for the home's overall heating and cooling needs.
When multiple indoor units operate at the same time, the system shares the condenser’s available heating or cooling capacity across all active zones. Multi-zone systems also operate in one mode at a time, meaning all connected indoor units must run in either heating mode or cooling mode simultaneously.
Who installs the AC unit after I purchase it?
ACDirect does not yet provide installation services directly. However, most of our customers successfully arrange installation through local licensed HVAC contractors. These systems are designed for professional installation and typically include the components your installer will need.
Here’s how it works:
- Hire a licensed HVAC technician in your area
- Use platforms like Angi, Thumbtack, or a local HVAC directory to find reliable professionals
- Confirm your installer is experienced with the system type you’re purchasing

Please be aware if you choose to install HVAC equipment yourself and don’t possess proper HVAC licensing, you will void the manufacturer’s factory warranty. If you are capable of a factory-compliant installation yourself, you will need a licensed HVAC contractor to sign off on your work, fully confirming factory-compliant workmanship.
