In a downflow installation, heated air moves from the furnace into ductwork located beneath the unit, making this configuration a practical replacement choice for many factory-built homes.
Available in heating capacities from 10 to 23 kW, the E7ED family makes it easier to match the furnace to the home’s heating requirements. Its compact cabinet supports installation in common manufactured-home utility spaces, while front service access helps qualified HVAC professionals perform routine inspection and maintenance.

The Intertherm C85DAMX42U-B is a 3.5-ton, 42,000 BTU uncased indoor coil designed specifically for compatible manufactured and modular home heat-pump systems. Unlike a cooling-only evaporator coil, this model supports refrigerant heat transfer during both summer cooling and heat-pump heating operation.
Intertherm continues the factory-built home HVAC legacy previously associated with the Revolv name. This vertical A-coil combines micro-channel construction with a factory-installed TXV to manage R454B refrigerant flow, helping an approved matched heat-pump system provide dependable year-round comfort.
- 3.5-ton nominal capacity: Supports approved heat-pump systems with approximately 42,000 BTUs of capacity.
- Heat-pump application: Designed to support both cooling and heating in compatible split heat-pump systems.
- R454B refrigerant design: Built for approved current-generation R454B equipment.

The C85DAMX42U-B is the appropriate 3.5-ton coil when an approved Intertherm heat-pump match requires this model. It should not be substituted with the C85DAMX42U-B cooling-only coil solely because both have similar nominal capacity. Professional match verification and installation are required.
Who installs the AC unit after I purchase it?
ACDirect does not yet provide installation services directly. However, most of our customers successfully arrange installation through local licensed HVAC contractors. These systems are designed for professional installation and typically include the components your installer will need.

- Hire a licensed HVAC technician in your area
- Use platforms like Angi, Thumbtack, or a local HVAC directory to find reliable professionals
- Confirm your installer is experienced with the system type you’re purchasing

Please be aware if you choose to install HVAC equipment yourself and don’t possess proper HVAC licensing, you will void the manufacturer’s factory warranty. If you are capable of a factory-compliant installation yourself, you will need a licensed HVAC contractor to sign off on your work, fully confirming factory-compliant workmanship.
