What is CFM?

The description for CFM is as follows:

CFM is an abbreviation for "cubic feet per minute". This describes the volume of air delivered from the furnace in one minute. Use the following as a guide:

Home Square Footage	CFM Required
Up to 1200	800
1201 to 1800	1200
1801 to 2600	1600
2600 to 3200	2000

The actual heating capacity of your furnace is determined by the heat strip you will select once you select a given furnace CFM. Choose the airflow delivery (CFM) based on the square footage chart above. The heating output (BTU's) are listed for each heating element choice you will be offered.
