All Unico System modular air handlers (both blowers and coils) are shipped from the factory configured for horizontal airflow. Available vertical conversion kits are offered for upflow applications. Most applications designed for vertical configuration use a base plenum/platform to elevate the unit for proper condensate drainage. The Unico System vertical plenum module eliminates the need for the installer to build a base.
You can select the field-installed vertical/upflow conversion kits, if needed, once you add the system to cart.

INSTALLS IN ANY SPACE
The Unico System is smaller and more compact, using less than one-third of the space in the installed environment than a traditional HVAC system. It can deliver up to 12 tons of airflow from the same space as a 4-ton traditional AC unit.
ULTRA-QUIET PERFORMANCE
The supply tubing ductwork is designed to handle airflow in a very efficient manner while minimizing air turbulence, drastically reducing the sounds you hear within your space down to that of a soft whisper.
Unico applies a nylon inner core wrapped in sound-deadening insulation to maintain the lowest sounds levels of any system you can buy.

The Unico Mini Duct System fits in spaces where other conventional cooling and heating systems aren’t even a consideration – without the hassle of extensive remodeling!
The space-saving air handlers and coils can be easily installed into attics, ceilings, crawlspaces, drop ceilings, and closets.
UNICO PROVIDES DRAFT-FREE, EVEN TEMPERATURES THROUGHOUT YOUR HOME
Through a physics principle known as “aspiration”, the Unico System air is delivered into a space and creates a gentle negative pressure around itself that draws the room air into the air being delivered into the space.
Aspiration creates an even, draft free environment. This has the net effect of lowering the “feels like” room temperature by 2 to 3 degrees in the cooling mode, meaning you can set your thermostat a few degrees higher while enjoying a “feels like” temperature that feels 2-3 degrees cooler.
Each degree you raise your thermostat setting by will save about 7-10% in operating costs.
30% INCREASED HUMIDITY REMOVAL
The Unico System provides greater humidity removal, up to 30%, with the superior and efficient design of our cooling coils, creating a perfectly comfortable environment.
The benefit for you is that you can have your thermostat set higher than you typically would, yet have the conditioned space feel as though your thermostat is set lower, reducing the operating time of the system while saving you energy and money.

The E.C. motor is the heart of the Unico air handler blower series. The variable-speed fan motor continually adjusts air volume and blower speed to provide a perfectly-calibrated flow of comfortable heating and cooling at greatly reduced sound levels.
It features advanced manufacturing and design characteristics for elevated energy efficiency, indoor comfort, and maximum reliability.

PRODUCT FEATURES
The ductwork of the Unico System is so small and flexible that it fits right into existing home constructions, weaving through ceilings, walls, and floors.
The Unico System supply tubes are available in either 2 and 2.5" I.D. (inside diameter). They are often referred to as Sound Attenuator due to the sound deadening properties of the duct. The tubes core is made with nylon, which is then wrapped with insulation and finally wrapped with an outer vapor barrier to stop moisture and also to reduce thermal losses.
Standard 2" Duct
- Our standard duct can deliver up to 40 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air
- Full range of round and slotted outlets which are available in a variety of finishes
- Outlets can also be painted to match any color
- Recommended to use 8 outlets per nominal ton to keep noise levels very quiet
2.5" Duct
- 2.5" tubing paired with a new threaded outlet
- The 2.5" tubing can deliver up to 50 CFM
- Full range of round outlets available
- Has the same sound level as a 2" outlet but more airflow
- If you have normal duct lengths and can maintain the same static pressure, you can reduce the number of outlets and save on installation time
- Because of greater airflow capabilities, the 2.5" tubing and outlet are ideal for high altitude installations
The supply tubing is offered in two inside diameters, 2" and 2 1/2".
There are two styles of supply duct:
Sound Attenuator tubing, sold in 12' lengths
Aluminum Core tubing, sold in 25' lengths
- All available in R3.3, R4.2, R6 and R8 insulation
- Both styles of tubing can be cut to length as needed
- The inner core layer of the tubing is either: Two-ply corrugated aluminum OR spun-bound nylon
- The outer jacket for all is made of a two-ply reinforced reflective mylar; providing a vapor seal to prevent leakage and moisture migration and increases the insulation factor by reducing the radiant heat transfer. A fiberglass blanket insulation then fills the void between the jacket and the core
- The R3.3 and R4 duct have one insulation layer and vapor barrier
- The R6 and R8 have two layers of insulation and a double vapor seal

The Unico System Supply Outlets are used to anchor the Supply Duct to the ceiling, floor, or wall and provide quiet delivery of high velocity air to the conditioned space. Unico round outlets come in both 2" and 2.5" and are available in a variety of colors and materials to match your decor. The standard Supply Outlet comes in white plastic which can also be painted to match your interior décor.
The outlets also come in slotted varieties (1/2"x8") as well which are available in all colors and materials that the round outlets feature.
These small, unobtrusive outlets replace the big, bulky registers you see so frequently with standard heating and cooling outlets.
The wood outlet is identical to the standard outlet except for the unfinished solid wood face.
All outlets can be painted or stained to match your existing ceiling, floor, or wall. They are also available in black, brass, and chrome to blend with virtually all interior décors.
