The short answer
No. The low pricing has nothing to do with selling closeouts, discontinued models, or outdated equipment. Every item AC Direct sells is current generation, brand new, and factory fresh, and it ships with the full manufacturer warranty. A contractor who suggests otherwise may simply be comparing direct online pricing to a traditional retail markup.
Why factory direct pricing is lower
AC Direct is an online retailer that buys complete systems and ships them direct to your door. Cutting out the layers of local markup is what lowers the price, not the age or status of the equipment. You receive the same current models a contractor would install, often at a meaningful savings, and the full factory warranty stays intact.
What about closeouts and scratch and dent units?
On occasion AC Direct does offer genuine closeouts or scratch and dent equipment. When that happens, those units are clearly identified as such and priced even lower so the savings are passed along to you. They are never mixed into standard inventory or sold as current stock.
| Listing type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Standard inventory | Current generation, brand new, factory fresh, full warranty |
| Closeout | Clearly marked, priced lower, savings passed along |
| Scratch and dent | Posted under identifying links, priced lower when available |
Warranty coverage
The full manufacturer warranty is always included, whether the unit is standard inventory or a marked closeout. Warranty parts are covered by the manufacturer and obtained through a local licensed contractor or authorized distributor. Labor is not covered by the manufacturer warranty. AC Direct support can point you in the right direction if you ever need a warranty part.
