In a compatible packaged heat pump, it can provide supplemental warmth during colder weather and emergency heat when properly configured.

Available in 5, 8, 10, 15, and 20 kW capacities, the W3P Series allows the heater output to be matched to the equipment and the home's heating requirements. Intertherm, formerly marketed under the Revolv name, designed these 240-volt, single-phase kits to operate with the packaged unit's blower and controls. Some models include circuit breakers, while others require the appropriate equipment-provided or field-installed circuit protection.
